Step 1. Gut Pumpkin
This is the classic first step with a twist. Instead of carving the top around the stem, carve out the bottom of the pumpkin to access the inside. Somewhere at or below the line, cut a notch or small shape. The hole near the line will help the candle receive air & cutting the bottom allows access to lighting the candle later.
Continue to clean out the inside, scraping the inside clean of all slimy bits. Wipe the outside of the pumpkin clean, then pat the inside and outside dry.
